It’s Windows wallpaper season in California. And that’s no bull.

My God. It never occurred to me that “Bliss” was a real photograph. Let me repeat: given that it was Windows and given the default XP color scheme, it NEVER OCCURRED TO ME that BLISS was a REAL PHOTOGRAPH. It was, in fact, the least pleasant default scheme I’d ever seen. How did they do that?
A friend who should know such things told me that the photographer was paid $175,000 for that shot.
