In keeping with our tendency to follow natural disasters, Kelly and I will be traveling to Thailand at the end of the month. We will be visiting northen Thailand – Bangkok and Chiang Mai – many miles from the tsunami ravaged south. We’ll be staying the breathtaking Shangri La Hotel during our three days in Bangkok. This hotel was recently voted 6th best hotel in the world by Conde Nast Magazine, so we’re pretty excited. 🙂
We promise to do our part to help the victims by spending as many tourist dollars as possible while there. And of course, I plan to try to update the blog frequently, so please check in often!
How exciting! MHS’s last two foreign exchange students were from Bagkok, Thailand – Pat and Tan (with a long a). These are their American names, I’m not even going to attempt their Thai names. Did you know that, in the Thai language, Bankok has 72 syllables?! We were good friends with both of them and their host families. Then, of course, there’s Ben and Noel Atitya (Holy Redeemer). I know that Ben is in California, but Noel has been back in Thailand for many years. Hopefully, he’s living in the northern part of the country – that’s something Terry and George may know. Have a wonderful (and safe) time. Can’t wait to hear about your adventures. Cindy
