We decided to check out the San Francisco fireworks this year. Neither of us has seen them close up for decades, so we braved the fog and bitter cold to sail out on the USS Potomac. The ship parked close to the action for a relatively fog-free show.
But the coolest thing about the event was the sunset under the Bay Bridge on the way out and the moonrise under the same bridge on the way back. Unfortunately, I had the little camera instead of the D3, and so was unable to do photographic justice to the moonrise.
If you would have taken your D3 the sunset would have been horrible. Taking the S95 insured a breathtaking event.
Beautiful Sunset!
Who’s the chubby little man?
The “chubby” man is an FDR wannabe. 🙂 The docents were in costume for our 4th of July cruise.
