This camera is so wonderful. It doesn’t seem to matter what I point it at – the results are spectacular. Even the mundane becomes captivating. I’m so totally blown away by the fact that I can walk a block up 4th street and shoot images that would not be possible with any other camera. The quality of the images from the D2X is so high that you can easily spot deficiencies in my lenses. The images look like they were shot with a medium format camera and scanned – a very lengthy process. In fact, I can shoot images like this and bring them to you in a matter of minutes.

The quality is so high, that even this 3 megabyte version of one of the images above does not look as good as the original. Compression artifacts are visible even though it was saved with a JPEG quality setting of 11 in PhotoShop CS.

I will not live in this neighborhood forever, but I’ll always have some fine images to remind me of it.
