Google seems to have done it again. This time, it’s their mapping software. Mapquest, Yahoo maps and their ilk will certainly see a serious challenge from Google’s beautiful maps.
(Unfortunately, this fabulous technology does not seem to work in my beloved Opera. Use Firefox instead.)
UPDATE: I tried Google maps again today with Opera – and it (mostly) works! Both on my pee see and Kelly’s Mac! Woo-hoo!
In Mozilla, here’s a cool shortcut. Add a bookmark with:
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=from%20247%204th%20St.%2094607%20to%20%s
… and assign a shortcut like “gm”. Then, you can type into your location field, “gm street, zip”, to get directions from our home to an address. 🙂
GREAT tip, Eric. Thanks!
jim – you made my day…
wow – that blows all other map services away!
question is – where did you find it? why cant they advertise better – i dont even see it listed on their site anywhere.
