Luckily for us, our good friend Grant is a cousin of one the world’s most gifted musicians. With Grant’s help, we were able to score five seats in the second row at the resplendent Davies Symphony Hall for last night’s performance by Cliburn winner Jon Nakamatsu. I simply do not have words to describe the skill and talent displayed by Mr. Nakamatsu. I could say the performance was stunning, incredible and beautiful, but that doesn’t really give you any idea of what it’s like to see him play live – especially backed by Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony. This is truly one of the world’s rarest of gifts. Bravo!!
I love the shot of Kelly Belly in the box. Whoz the guy w/the ill-fitting suit?
Thanks! I am very proud of the shot of Kelly – taken during Mr. Nakamatsu’s pre-concert recital. We learned that if you have a box seat, you can take your champagene into the theater!!! You can probably guess where we’ll be sitting next time we attend a performance at Davies. 🙂
Delighted to see you taking such an interest in culture. During those halcyon days spent living with you the closest you ever seemed to get to any culture was taking a yogurt out of the fridge.
Love to you both, Toby
