My friend Chris is working on a book. Weather is his passion – he went to college in Wisconsin because of the weather. His new book details weather extremes from around the world. Today the two of us put our heads together and worked out a preliminary design for the book cover. We’re quite pleased with the results – and I don’t mind saying so!
I know Chris. This will be a fascinating book with tons of amazing images, tremendous depth and detail. I’ll reserve a copy (or two) for each of you.
To celebrate our hard work, Kelly suggested we sample a bit of wine at Rosenblum. (God bless her.) On the way home, we saw this unfortunately named restaurant.
Where did that shot from the cover come from?
I’ve always enjoyed the names of my local Thai restaurant (“Phuping Thai”) and the one in San Francisco (“Phucket”, I think) 😉
The cover photo is from a book about Nebraska Weather. It’s a real photo. The back cover shot is of people sleeping outside on the Capitol lawn due to the extreme heat. The book will have lots of cool shots like these.
So, is that pronouced foo ping? 🙂
Yeah, cool cover shot! Can you envision the girls wine tasting in front of the tornado? I guess that shot would be more appropriate for a guide on “Wine tasting in extreme weather”.
Hey, Dave! That gives me an idea… Hmmm… 🙂
I love the fact that you two managed to work in a hot babe for the cover shot….talk about things that make you go HMMMM!!! 🙂
