I had to use a zoom lens and tripod to get the pictures. It was really difficult because 1)I’m not great with a camera, 2)my eye site is not what it was LOL, 3)it is hidden in the foliage about 20 feet off the ground, and 4)everything kept fogging up because of the high humidity. But I think they turned out great!
Nice! Hummers are amazing critters.

Jim Pire Those are amazing pictures. You took some great ones in Wyoming(?) a while ago too, right? I have some really cool ones of a hummer at the feeder also. Taken in sports mode, with a tripod, just sitting on the deck.
Hummingbird nests are extremely difficult to see. Bob just happened to be on a ladder next to it and realized that it wasn’t part of the tree. It’s probably the size of a half dollar or a little smaller.
Wow. Amazing creatures.
Cool shots. I’ve actually had 3 get caught in my garage. Fortunately, I was able to get them out. The first one was so tired that I was able to pick it off the garage floor and carry it outside. Now I have a butterfly net rigged up to my roof rake. My kids had a good laugh at me buying the butterfly net.
The poor, little guys. Having a big, mean person chasing them around. LOL
Here are a couple more shots that Bob took with his phone’s camera. The last two were taken at night with a flashlight and the flash on his phone. I love how the nest seems to glow. They also give you a little better perspective of how far off of the ground the nest is.
