Our dear friends Ann and Lynne provided the excuse for a trip to the Napa Valley. As it happens, the trip could not have been timed more perfectly. We arrived just in time to witness Mother Nature at her scenic best.
Thanks to Lynne, we visited some of the most beautiful wineries we have ever seen, starting with Darioush, then Clos Du Val, Silverado, Franciscan, and ending the day with a fine dinner at Solage Calistoga.
The next morning, fluffy Cumulus provided dramatic lighting for the fall foliage after a gentle rainfall. Wow. The photos don’t do it justice.

By the way, all shots were all made with the SONY DCS-RX100, which has a lot to do with why they look so good. But that’s not the only reason these look as good as they do. Much of the credit has to go to the fact that I am now using Adobe Lightroom in my workflow. Lightroom makes it easy to add “pop” to your images without making things look too phony. I’ll try to post some before-and-afters to show you what I’m talking about.
