Crazy Beautiful Wine Country

Our dear friends Ann and Lynne provided the excuse for a trip to the Napa Valley. As it happens, the trip could not have been timed more perfectly. We arrived just in time to witness Mother Nature at her scenic best.

Thanks to Lynne, we visited some of the most beautiful wineries we have ever seen, starting with Darioush, then Clos Du Val, Silverado, Franciscan, and ending the day with a fine dinner at Solage Calistoga.

The next morning, fluffy Cumulus provided dramatic lighting for the fall foliage after a gentle rainfall. Wow. The photos don’t do it justice.

By the way, all shots were all made with the SONY DCS-RX100, which has a lot to do with why they look so good. But that’s not the only reason these look as good as they do. Much of the credit has to go to the fact that I am now using Adobe Lightroom in my workflow. Lightroom makes it easy to add “pop” to your images without making things look too phony.

Yeah, ‘fraid so. Steve does pretty much 100% of his workflow withing LR. I was skeptical until yesterday. Based on these results and on what I’ve seen on Adobe TV, I’m sure I’ll soon get better results than I did with PhotoShop AND save time. Win win!

Instead of the “San Francisco Death March” this time it was the “Napa Valley Death March”. Hmmm…don’t hear you complaining as much this time. It must be because there was lots of wine involved. lol Glad you had a great time.
